CHAPTER HISTORY

Back to BK NC VI Home

North Carolina Chapter VI  is one of the newest Blue Knight Chapters in North Carolina.  Our Chapter started as an idea of a few Correctional Workers at the Federal Correctional Complex in Butner, North Carolina in the winter of 2004 that loved to ride.  These men and women knew that there were many law enforcement officers in the Triangle area that rode motorcycles. They had meet several members of the Blue Knights on a previous rides, and they wanted to be a part of a great group of riders, however, there were no Blue Knights Chapters in the area.  Knowing that a local chapter was needed, this small group of law enforcement officers decided to call together a meeting with the other motorcycle riding officers from around the area to determine if there was enough interest to form a local Blue Knights Chapter.  Because of the hard work of these men and women, North Carolina Chapter VI  received their official charter on March 8, 2005 .  Fourteen members were inducted as Charter Members into North Carolina Chapter VI, and the current membership keeps on growing.   Our membership now includes not only men and women from the Federal Bureau of Prisons, but also from the Person County Sheriffs Department, the Durham Police Department, Roxboro Police Department, North Carolina Department of Corrections, the Halifax County, Virginia Police Department, and the Department of Defense.
